Giovanni Gastel, Italian, nephew of the legendary movie director Luchino Visconti, discovers at a young age his passion for photography. Amongst the most well known communication and advertising artists, he has done a great amount of editorials as well as hundreds of both national and international campaigns for the most prestigious brands of "prêt à porter", leather, jewelry and cosmetics, which include Tod's, Krizia, Gianfranco Ferré, Canali, Cortefiel (four consecutive campaigns), Prenatal, Malo, Fratelli Rossetti, Pascale Bruni, Re Carlo, Intercos.
His symbolic and dream-like images, sometimes surreal, show his constant creative investigation, which at the same time reflect the evolution of the habits and customs of the last twenty years. He shoots primarily with Polaroid 20x25 cm large format sheet film.

Giovanni Gastel es un fotógrafo italiano, sobrino de Luchino Visconti, que descubrió muy joven su pasión por la fotografía y que actualmente vive y trabaja entre Milán y Paris. Giovanni se encuentra entre los artistas más conocidos en el terreno de la comunicación publicitaria, ha realizado gran cantidad de editoriales así como también centenares de campañas nacionales e internacionales para prestigiosas firmas de “prêt à porter”, pieles, joyas y cosmética, entre las cuales destacamos Tod’s, Krizia, Gianfranco Ferré, Canali, Cortefiel, Prenatal, Malo, Fratelli Rossetti, Pasquale Bruni, Re Carlo, Intercos. Sus imágenes, oníricas y simbólicas, a veces surrealistas, indican una constante investigación creativa que refleja la evolución de las costumbres en los últimos veinte años.
